LIVE / CALCULATED ESTIMATE

—

Illustrative starting values. Replace them with your measurements. A calculation is not a physical print test or a quality guarantee.

How to use it

Enter the expected physical reference size at your current settings, the cooled measured size, and the current slicer scale for each axis. Measure repeat samples at multiple sizes first. Apply a candidate correction only to the same stable process, then reprint and measure.

The arithmetic

new axis scale (%) = current scale (%) × reference / measured

A 20.00 mm reference printed at 19.80 mm with a current X scale of 100% gives 101.0101%. Its observed relative undersize is 1.00%, not 1.0101%. Y and Z are calculated independently.

Know the limits

Observed undersize is not proof of thermal shrinkage. Elephant foot, belt errors, backlash, flow and measurement offset can dominate. Scaling does not fix holes or constant offsets and changes every dimension on an axis. Do not tune axis firmware steps from a printed cube. Ratios outside 0.8–1.25 are refused. No universal material compensation is supplied.

Inputs must be finite and non-negative; measured dimensions, density and calibration references must be positive. Out-of-range inputs clear the result rather than leaving a stale answer.
