Measured extrusion correction
Keep slicer flow, e-steps and rotation distance in their own lanes.
Your measurements
—
Illustrative starting values. Replace them with your measurements. A calculation is not a physical print test or a quality guarantee.
How to use it
Select the method before entering measurements. For the slicer wall-width method, follow Prusa’s thin-wall procedure and use the slicer’s expected extrusion width, not simply nozzle diameter. Average several clean measurements. Firmware modes instead use commanded vs actual filament feed length; they are not wall-thickness methods.
The arithmetic
flow or e-steps: new = old × target / measured; rotation distance: new = old × measured / target
A wall expected at 0.45 mm but measured at 0.48 mm gives 1.000 × 0.45 / 0.48 = 0.9375 flow. A 100 mm feed measured at 95 mm gives 100 steps/mm → 105.2632 steps/mm, but 22 mm rotation distance → 20.9000 mm.
Know the limits
Wall measurements are sensitive to bead shape, micrometer technique, line width and slicer algorithm. Do not use this single-wall calculation for an arbitrary infilled wall or substitute it for your slicer’s patch-test procedure. Do not use flow to conceal mechanical feed problems. No commands are generated or sent; consult official firmware instructions and retest. Corrections beyond a 0.5–2 measurement ratio are deliberately refused.
Inputs must be finite and non-negative; measured dimensions, density and calibration references must be positive. Out-of-range inputs clear the result rather than leaving a stale answer.
